Commissioned Works
I relish the opportunity to tackle larger paintings designed for a certain space or client need. These are obviously created in my studio and require careful planning.
Grad at Grad Murals
Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colorado, wanted five murals to picture Jesuits who represent the five characteristics the school hopes every graduate embodies when they leave the school: Committed to Justice, Open to Growth, Religious, Intellectually Competent and Loving. The original paintings have been printed on aluminum panels that hang on the main stairway in Tradition Hall.
A new private residence needed a large artwork in the entry. The architectural style is Italian and the owners selected photographic reference images that I took while living in Italy. Three panels, each 3’ by 5’ make up the work. Each panel has individual scenes from a hill town in Tuscany; elements of the images also flow over into adjoining panels.
The owners of a residence wanted a large painting to fit into the wall cove above a fireplace. Since they live in Colorado, they wanted scenes that included aspens. The painting is oil on panel, 5’ by 8’. It combines multiple views of aspens in different seasons.
